Ajin Manga's OAD Bundled With 9th Volume Previewed in Video

OAD depicting everyday lives of story's characters debuts on October 7

Kodansha's official YouTube channel for its Good! Afternoon, Weeky Morning, and Evening magazines began streaming a commercial on Sunday for the original anime DVD bundled with a limited edition of the ninth volume of Gamon Sakurai's Ajin - Demi-Human manga. The video features Izumi telling Tosaki that she is getting a part-time job.

The manga's ninth volume is slated for October 7. The OAD will have two stories titled "Kei, Kō, Tosaki, Shimomura in Kakurega no Ryokan" and "Satō and Tanaka in Himitsu no Ajito." The limited edition will cost 3,600 yen (about US$35).

The official website for the Ajin anime project describes the OAD:

A special side story depicting the everyday lives of the characters. This will let people see the unexpected and frank reactions that were never shown in the TV anime or films. Taking forbidden peeks at their lives might become a habit!

The OAD's cast includes Mamoru Miyano, Jun Fukuyama, Houchu Ohtsuka, Takahiro Sakurai, Daisuke Hirakawa, and Mikako Komatsu.

A limited edition of the manga's eighth volume also bundled an OAD on May 6. Polygon Pictures is once again animating the OAD in the ninth volume.

Netflix streamed new episodes of the television anime series in Japan three days after they aired on television, and streamed the full series outside of Japan after it finished airing. The second anime film opened on May 6, and the third film will open on September 23.

Sakurai launched the manga in Kodansha's Good! Afternoon magazine in 2012. Vertical published the seventh volume in North America on February 23. Crunchyroll is posting new chapters as Kodansha publishes them in Japan.
