New playable character launches with updated moves on Monday

Arc System Works announced at the Evo 2016 fighting game tournament on Sunday that Dizzy will join the Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator- game. Dizzy will launch as a playable character for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 game on July 19.

Dizzy received 32,990 votes from fans to earn first place in a contest to choose a new playable character. Her special moves will be updated in the game with Necro and Undine versions. The character will be available for free download in Japan from July 19-25. Starting on July 26, Dizzy will cost 800 yen (about US$8). A Dizzy character color pack with five color variations will launch on Monday for 100 yen (US$1).

The Elphelt (SIGN Version) costume will also launch for home versions of the game on Monday. The characters Raven and Kum Haehyun will launch for the arcade version of the game, and location tests will begin at various locations in Japan on Monday. Both versions of the game will receive other updates such as balance adjustments.

Dizzy, Raven, and Kum Haehyun were already available in the game as downloadable character voices.

Arc System Works released the game on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 in Japan on May 26, while Aksys Games released the game in North America on June 7. Arc System Works released Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator- in arcades across Japan on August 25.

The game contains a new mode designed for beginners called "Stylish Mode." In this mode, players can execute basic combos, special, and Overdrive moves through repeated presses of a single button. The console versions will offer cross-platform multiplayer play between the PS4 and PS3 versions.

Arc System Works released the original Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- game in Japanese arcades in February 2014. The company then released the game for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 consoles in Japan in December 2014, and publisher Aksys Games released the game in North America later that month. Arc System Works released the game in Europe in June 2015.
