Trailer reveals in-game dialogue level-up mechanics

Atlus' official YouTube channel streamed a new video on Thursday for its upcoming Persona 5 PlayStation 4 game, showing an in-game clip of the protagonist and Ryuji bonding.

The trailer features the two characters watching a soccer game together. Ryuji asks the protagonist which sport he prefers. When the protagonist answers soccer, a menu pops up, allowing the player to use the newly earned point to level up one of five stats.

The latest entry in the Persona role-playing game series will ship for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 on September 15 in Japan, and on February 14, 2017 in the Americas. The game's Western release will have English audio only.

Atlus will offer the American release in a "Take Your Heart" Premium Edition that includes a soundtrack CD, a Morgana plush, a hardcover art book, a steelbook, and a school bag. The game will also be available in a SteelBook Edition.

The game features animation sequences from the Production I.G studio.

The Persona 5 the Animation -The Day Breakers- television anime special will air on September 3. The special will recount the prologue story of the young thief organization at the center of the game.

Hisato Murasaki will launch the Persona 5 manga on Shogakukan's Manga ONE app on September 15, and then on the Ura Sunday website on September 22.
