Anime News Network's New York Comic-Con 2016 news coverage sponsored by Yen Press.

Right Stuf announced at its panel at Otakon on Saturday that it is partnering with Sunrise to release the Turn A Gundam television anime series on Blu-ray Disc. Right Stuf will release the series in two Blu-ray Disc collection sets in early 2017. The release will feature Japanese audio and English subtitles. The company will also offer a program where customers can exchange their Turn A Gundam DVDs for Blu-ray Discs.

Right Stuf describes Turn A Gundam as follows:

For 2000 years, a separate race of humanity has lived on the moon. Known as "the Moonrace," their technology is leaps and bounds beyond those that stayed behind on the Earth's surface. Now seeking to return to their original home, the Moonrace send three teenagers, Loran, Keith, and Fran, down to Earth on a reconnaissance mission to test the viability of its environment.

After spending a year on Earth, Loran has become good friends with Sochie and Kihel, daughters of the prestigious Heim family, and he looks forward to fully integrating into Earth society. But before Loran gets the chance to make his report, the Moonrace launch a surprise attack. Earth's primitive airplanes are no match for the superior power of the Moonrace's mobile suits. However, in the midst of the initial attack, Loran and Sochie uncover a long-forgotten relic: a white mobile suit. As a Moonrace, Loran is quickly able to grasp the basics of piloting it, but by doing so, he inadvertently places himself in the middle of a war.

Right Stuf originally announced its license of the Turn A Gundam television anime series in 2014, and released the anime in two DVD sets in 2015. Those sets marked the first North American release of the series. Right Stuf also released the Turn A Gundam: Earth Light and Turn A Gundam: Moon Butterfly anime films on DVD last November.

Right Stuf also revealed more details regarding some of the titles it announced at Anime Expo. Right Stuf and Sunrise will now release Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket on DVD in early 2017 — Right Stuf had originally stated that it would release the series in late 2016. The release will still include English and Japanese audio with English subtitles.

Nozomi Entertainment also clarified that it will release Martian Successor Nadesico on Blu-ray Disc in 2017 in a complete collection containing the 26-episode television series as well as the Martian Successor Nadesico: The Motion Picture - Prince of Darkness film and the Gekiganger 3 video anime. The set will include English and Japanese audio and English subtitles. Right Stuf previously released the television series, film, and OVA in a complete collection DVD set in 2012.
