Heybot! Children's Gag Anime Reveals Cast, Staff, September 18 Premiere

Fairy Tail's Shinji Ishihira directs; Shiori Izawa, Nao Tamura star in Bandai's new series

Bandai's official website for its Heybot! television anime series intended for elementary school-aged children revealed the show's main cast, staff, premiere date, and key visual on Friday.

The anime will premiere on September 18 on the TV Asahi network of channels, and will air on Sundays at 7:00 a.m.

The anime stars:

Shiori Izawa as Heybot, a very clumsy Bokyabot born from Nejiru's "screw spirit."

Nao Tamura as Nejiru Nejiiru, Heybot's "nejiai" partner. He is a prince who loves screws.

Takayuki Nakatsukasa as DJ Sarukkii, a monkey-type Bokyabot who is also a DJ rapper who likes to rhyme.

Tomohiro Yamaguchi as Cat Beetiger, a tiger-type Bokyabot whose screw is shaped like a steering wheel. Once it starts running it doesn't stop, and it's very quick-tempered.

Yuri Yamaoka as Sky Rabbit, a rabbit-type Bokyabot whose screw is shaped like a postbox. It has big ears that allow it to fly, and it delivers important things.

The anime takes place on the screw-shaped island country of Nejigashima ("neji" means screw in Japanese). The anime will follow the "Bokyabot" Heybot and the Yurui Prince Nejiru as they collect different "Bokya Neji" screws. When the Bokyabots wear the Bokya Neji screws on their heads, they're able to compete in "Bokya Battles," battles for who can think up and tell the best jokes.

BN Pictures is credited with the planning, original work, and animation production for the series, while Bandai is credited with the original plan. Bridge is providing animation cooperation. Shinji Ishihira (Fairy Tail, Log Horizon, Tokyo Majin) is directing the series, and Atsuhiro Tomioka (various Battle Spirits, Inazuma Eleven anime series) is handling the series composition. Satohiko Sano (key animator for Yōkai Watch, Beyblade: Metal Fury) is designing the characters, Kenichi Takase (mechanical design for Nobunagun) is designing the Bokyabots, and Tomotaka Ohsumi (Dagashi Kashi) is composing the music. MISOKKASU is performing the opening theme song "Hōkago Nejimaki Dance," and Wa-suta is performing the ending theme song "Gūchoki Pantsu no Masayoshi-san."

Other staff members include:

Sub Design: Shinji Takeuchi, Shingo Fujisaki
Prop Design: Yutaka Miya
Art Director: Masaki Kawaguchi
Color Key: Yoshimi Kawakami
Director of Photography: Teruyuki Kawase
Photography Supervisor: Hyeon Dae Song

Audio Producer: Mariko Kubozono

Bandai began streaming a promo video for the franchise in June.

Bandai is also selling toys based on the series and is also developing a free-to-play Nintendo 3DS game.
