2016 Scotland Loves Anime Line-Up Announced

Tickets for the Glasgow leg of the 2016 Scotland Loves Anime festival are now available online. The venue is the Glasgow Film Theatre. (The films that will screen at the Edinburgh leg of the festival are listed at the bottom of this article, but tickets will not be available until September 9.)

The full Glasgow line-up is as follows; the picture shows Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV which screens on Sunday. Most of the screenings are introduced by Jonathan Clements.

Friday October 14

11 p.m. - Belladonna of Sadness

Saturday October 15

1.40 p.m. - Momotaro, Sacred Sailors. The screening also includes the Kenzo Masaoka short film The Spider and the Tulip.

4.15 p.m. - Pigtails (a 28-minute animation that was originally part of a mixed-media production.) Introduced by director Yoshimi Itazu with an in-depth Q&A after the screening.

8.20 p.m. - Kizumonogatari: Parts 1 and 2

Sunday October 16

12.15 p.m - The Anthem of the Heart

3 p.m. - Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV

5.30 p.m. - Mystery Film. According to the site, 'It screened in Japan in 2016, it's a premiere, it's a film with a relationship to SLA.'

The Edinburgh screenings are as follows. The screenings will be at the Edinburgh Filmhouse.

Monday October 17

8.30 p.m. - The Place Promised in Our Early Days (Makoto Shinkai)

Tuesday October 18

8.30 p.m. The Garden of Words/Voices of a Distant Star (Makoto Shinkai)

Wednesday October 19

8.30 p.m - Belladonna of Sadness

Thursday October 20

8.30 p.m. - Princess Arete (2001 film by Sunao Katabuchi, director of Mai Mai Miracle, Black Lagoon)
