Earth Defense Force 5 Game Revealed for PS4

Sony revealed D3 Publisher's Earth Defense Force 5 PlayStation 4 game at the "2016 PlayStation Press Conference in Japan" event on Tuesday. The game is slated for release in 2017 in Japan, and D3 Publisher is streaming the game's reveal video, which features the tagline "Humans, fight against your fate."
In the game, the Earth is at peace when suddenly an alien life form called "immigrants" attack, and the EDF must again take up arms against the invaders.
XSEED released Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair in North America on the PS4 in December 2015, and D3 Publisher released the game worldwide on Steam in July. The PS4 game originally shipped in Japan in April 2015.
Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair is an updated port of Earth Defense Force 4, which D3 Publisher released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in Japan in July 2013, and in the West as Earth Defense Force 2025 in February 2014.
XSEED released the PlayStation Vita game Earth Defense Force 2: Invaders from Planet Space in North America in December 2015.
