Collaboration manga with My Hero Academia, Food Wars!, Nisekoi, more commemorate Kochikame's finale

This year's 42nd issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine announced on September 17 that 11 Weekly Shonen Jump manga will hold collaborations with Osamu Akimoto's Kochira Katsushika-ku Kamearikouen-mae Hashutsujo ("Kochikame") police comedy manga, which ended in the same issue. The "Minna no Kochikame" (Everyone's Kochikame) collaboration project is commemorating the manga's end after a 40-year serialization.

The magazine's 44th issue will publish collaborations with Kōhei Horikoshi's My Hero Academia, Shūichi Asō's Saiki Kusuo no Psi Nan, Shun Numa's Samon-kun wa Summoner, Mitsutoshi Shimabukuro's Toriko, and Yūto Tsukuda and Shun Saeki's Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma manga on October 3.

The other collaborations are with:

The various manga in the 42nd issue featured a small nod to Kochikame's end: each manga featured a hidden image of protagonist Kankichi Ryotsu's signature eyebrows. Shueisha also went against its normal policy of not featuring a manga on the cover of the Weekly Shonen Jump issue that publishes its final chapter. The 42nd issue's cover (pictured below) featured images of Kankichi drawn by Akimoto as well as various Shonen Jump artists.

Kochikame's 200th and final compiled volume also shipped on September 17. The manga has earned the Guinness World Record for "most volumes published for a single manga series."

Akimoto plans to publish four new manga across four different Shueisha publications in 2017.
