Sōji Ishida draws manga based on Hiroyuki Kanno's original PC-98 game

Kadokawa's Comic Clear web manga site announced on September 18 that it will begin serializing a manga based on Hiroyuki Kanno's Kono Yo no Hate de Koi o Utau Shōjo YU-NO (YU-NO: A girl who chants love at the bound of this world.) game this fall. Sōji Ishida will draw the manga.

The site previewed some pages from the manga.

MAGES. and 5pb. Games' will release a remake of the game in Japan for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita on on November 17. The game was originally slated to ship on February 18, but was delayed to further improve on the game's quality and to conduct a code of ethics inspection (CERO, Japan's rating board, had not yet rated the game as of last December).

Eri Sasaki will perform the opening theme song "Recalling" for the game. The game will also feature the following cast:

Yuu Hayashi as Takuya Arima
Maaya Uchida as Kanna Hatano
Saori Ōnishi as Mitsuki Ichijo
Rie Kugimiya as Mio Shimazu
Yū Kobayashi as Eriko Takeda
Rena Maeda as Kaori Asakura
Kaori Nazuka as Ayumi Arima

MAGES former president Chiyomaru Shikura is serving as executive producer, and former Cave producer Makoto Asada is producing the project. Ryō Nagi (Ar Tonelico, Steel Chronicle) is designing the characters, and the remake credits the original creator Hiroyuki Kanno (EVE Burst Error) for the scripts. Kanno passed away in 2011, just months after YU-NO and EVE Burst Error composer Ryū Umemoto also passed away.

The original, critically acclaimed 1996 game for the PC-98 computer platform inspired the four-part 1998-1999 adult anime YU-NO. 5pb. then released the game for the Sega Saturn in 1997 and for Windows PC in 2000.
