This year's November issue of Kodansha's Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine announced on Friday that manga artist Takumi Ōyama will begin a manga tentatively titled Kō U-Den (Legend of Xiang Yu) in the next issue on November 9. The magazine will also begin a new series titled Kumanishi Bijutsubu Rafusuke-Senpai by Onio in the same issue.
Newcomer Ōyama began serializing the Ghost in the Shell Arise manga adaptation, Ghost in the Shell Arise: Nemuranai Me no Otoko: Sleepless Eye in 2013. The manga ended in June.
Ōyama's new "history spectacle" series follows Yu, who loses his family to the tyrannical rule of the Qin dynasty. Years pass as he struggles to live in poverty, and the Qin army appears again. The hero begins the story as a young boy, but he will one day be the great Chinese general Xiang Yu.
