Taito Announces 'NESiCAxLive 2' Arcade Game Platform

SNK's The King of Fighters XIV will be 1st game on platform

Japanese video game arcade company Taito announced at the end of its "Tōshinsai" fighting game tournament on Sunday that it is launching the temporarily titled "NESiCAxLive 2," a new version of its "NESiCAxLive" arcade game distribution system. The first game announced for the new system is SNK's The King of Fighters XIV. Taito will announce more details during the Japan Amusement Expo 2017 event in February.

The NESiCAxLive system allows arcade operators to download games from Taito's servers, that can then be stored on a local server. This removes the necessity to swap out game boards from cabinets for each game that an arcade operator wishes to support, and allows both operators and players to swap out the game currently in operation at a cabinet. SNK, Cave, Arc System Works, Examu, FK Digital, Square Enix, G.rev, and French Bread games are currently supported on the system.
