Yen Press announced at Isuna Hasekura's panel at New York Comic Con on October 7 that it will publish a Spice & Wolf short story collection and spinoff novels. The publisher plans to release Spice and Wolf, Volume 18: Spring Log and the first volume of Spice and Wolf New Theory: Parchment and Wolf in 2017.

Yen Press describes the novels:

· Spice and Wolf, Volume 18: Spring Log — A collection of short stories originally serialized in Dengeki Bunko Magazine, these tales revisit the world of Lawrence and Holo in celebration of the series' tenth anniversary.

· Spice and Wolf New Theory: Parchment and Wolf, Volume 1 — The beginning of a new adventure! Featuring Myuri, Lawrence and Holo's daughter, the world of Spice and Wolf opens anew!

Kurt Hassler, Yen Press Managing Director and Publisher, also announced at the panel that all 17 volumes of the original Spice & Wolf novel series will be available digitally in English for the first time. Yen Press will release the light novels as eBooks.

The publisher announced on Thursday that it will release an international edition of the Spice and Wolf tenth anniversary omnibus book, and it is slated to ship in mid-December. The edition will only be available to people outside of the United States. The release will feature a different color ribbon from the original release, and books will not be numbered. Yen Press released the numbered version of Spice and Wolf Anniversary Collector's Edition, which combines all 17 novels in one volume, in North America on October 4.

Hasekura began Shinsetsu Ōkami to Kōshinryō Ōkami to Yōhishi (Spice and Wolf New Theory: Parchment and Wolf) as a spinoff to the original novels in April. Both Spice and Wolf, Volume 18: Spring Log and the first volume of Spice and Wolf New Theory: Parchment and Wolf shipped in Japan on September 10.

Hasekura published the Spice and Wolf novel series with illustrations by Jū Ayakura from 2006 to 2011. Yen Press published the 17th and final novel in North America on April 19, and is also publishing the manga adaptation.

The novels also inspired two TV anime seasons directed by Takeo Takahashi and written by Naruhisa Arakawa. The first season aired in Japan from January to March 2008, and the second (Spice and Wolf II) from July to September 2009. North American anime distributor Funimation licensed both seasons.
