Campaign ends at 2:00 p.m. EST on Saturday

North American publisher Digital Manga Inc.'s (DMI) current Kickstarter campaign to publish Osamu Tezuka's Under the Air, The Crater, and Record of the Glass Castle manga reached its US$50,000 stretch goal on Friday to publish Tezuka's Melody of Iron (Tetsu no Senritsu) manga.

The Kickstarter campaign ends on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. EST. As of press time the campaign has raised US$53,149.

The main Kickstarter campaign is for Under the Air, with The Crater and Record of the Glass Castle being add-ons.

Tezuka's Under the Air manga collects a series of 14 short stories that Tezuka drew between 1968 and 1970. The stories share no continuity or story, and are tied together only by themes of human nature and duality. Melody of Iron is also an omnibus of short story works, and features "a story of love, hate, revenge, and a pair of prosthetic metal arms." The Crater features "excruciating themes of horror, mystery, suspense and sci-fi, centering around the dark nature of man." Record of the Glass Castle takes place in a "Glass Mansion," where "a family has been frozen in Cryosleep for 20 years. When the oldest son Ichirou awakes, the family starts to fall apart… All because of a critical side effect that lead to the national ban of Cryosleep. How far will Ichirou go in order to regain the life he lost?"

Update: The campaign ended on Saturday after raising US$57,584.
