Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Reflection Film Casts Haruka Tomatsu, Satomi Satou

Tomatsu, Satou voice characters from PSP game; Yukari Tamura, Nana Mizuki, Kana Ueda reprise roles

The official website of the Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha franchise revealed the main cast and staff of Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Reflection, the third film of the franchise, on Monday.

Yukari Tamura, Nana Mizuki, and Kana Ueda reprise their roles as Nanoha Takamachi, Fate T. Harlaown, and Hayate Yagami respectively. Haruka Tomatsu will voice Amitie Florian. Satomi Satou will voice Kirie Florian. Both characters debuted in the Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha A's Portable: The Gears of Destiny PlayStation Portable game in 2011, but have not appeared in any anime in the franchise. Tomatsu and Satou reprise their roles from the game.

Masaki Tsuzuki, the franchise creator and scriptwriter, is credited with the original work, and is also penning the script. Takayuki Hamana (The Prince of Tennis, Library War, Appleseed XIII) is directing the film at Seven Arcs Pictures. Kana Hashidate (Dog Days') is drawing the character designs, and Shochiku is distributing the film.

The site previously streamed a trailer last month which revealed the film's summer 2017 opening.

The Comic Market C91 event at the end of December will have a joint "Nanoha x ViVid Strike!" booth (#2411).

The project was first announced in March 2013 under the title Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha The Movie 3rd: Reflection. At the time, it was described as a brand-new story not based on previous material.

Tsuzuki's Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha franchise includes four television anime series, two anime films, and numerous spinoff manga. The fourth television anime series, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha ViVid, premiered in April 2015.ViVid Strike!, the new television anime by franchise creator and scriptwriter Masaki Tsuzuki, premiered on October 1. Amazon U.K. is currently streaming the series, and Amazon U.S. will also stream it.
