Final Seiyu's Life Dōjin Manga Chapter Slated for Summer Comiket 2017

Manga artist Kenjirō Hata, voice actress Masumi Asano collaborate on manga that received 2015 anime adaptation

The official blog for manga creator Kenjirō Hata and voice actress Masumi Asano's Sore ga Seiyū! (That's Voice Actor! or Seiyu's Life) dōjin manga announced earlier this month that the pair will publish the final chapter at next year's summer Comiket. The event will take place from August 11-13 at Tokyo Big Sight.

Asano (.hack franchise's Black Rose, Hayate the Combat Butler's Risa Asakaze) and Hata (Hayate the Combat Butler), working together under the name Hajimemashite, launched the manga at the winter Comiket event in 2011, and they have released new issues at Comiket events since then. The pair also publish installments online.

The four-panel manga centers on Futaba Ichinose, Ichigo Moesaki, and Rin Kohana, three rookie voice actresses. The manga features small but humorous observations of the voice actor industry.

An anime adaptation premiered in July 2015. FUNimation Entertainment streamed the series and released it on home video under the title Seiyu's Life.

Hata's Hayate the Combat Butler manga is serializing in Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine, and is also in its final arc. The manga has been running since 2004 and has inspired four television anime, an anime film, and two OVAs. Viz Media is releasing the manga in North America.

Asano has worked on other various manga such as Partner, Hiyoko no Arukikata, and Uru wa Sorairo Majo. Her voice acting credits include Ikki Tousen's Hakufu Sonsaku, Blood-C's Yūka Amino, The Pet Girl of Sakurasou's Ayano Iida, Yumeria's Mizuki Agatsuma, and Zettai Karen Children's Oboro Kashiwagi, among many others.
