JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Manga Gets New Smartphone Game App

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Records "3D action" game has characters from Parts 1-4

The January 2017 issue of Shueisha's Ultra Jump magazine announced on Monday that Hirohiko Araki's JoJo's Bizarre Adventure manga series and its anime adaptations will get a smartphone game app for iOS and Android devices. The "3D action" game is titled JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Records and is slated for 2017.

The screenshots and illustrations in the magazine show characters from Parts 1-4 of the manga. The game will be free-to-play with the option to purchase in-game items.

David Productions is currently adapting the manga into a television anime, with the currently airing JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable adapting Part 4 of the manga. The anime premiered on April 1, and is currently airing. Crunchyroll is streaming the series as it airs in Japan.

Viz Media is releasing the manga in North America, although its releases have not yet reached the fourth part.

The most recent game based on the manga is the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 action game. The game shipped in Japan in December 2015, in North America on June 28 and in Europe on July 1. Bandai Namco Entertainment also released the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Shooters app game in 2014.
