posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
The February 2017 issue of Kodansha's Morning two magazine revealed on Thursday that Shiori Amase's All Out!! manga is getting a stage play adaptation. Shatner Nishida (Yowamushi Pedal stage play) will direct the play and pen the script. The play will debut in May at the Zepp Blue Theater Roppongi in Tokyo.
Amase's original manga centers around Kenji Gion, a short first-year high school student. On his first day at Kanagawa Prefectural High School, he meets the tall Sumiaki Iwashimizu during a game of rugby. Kenji strikes a friendship with Sumiaki, and soon joins the rugby club. The manga portrays the struggles of the mismatched pair.
The manga also has a currently-airing television anime adaptation. The anime premiered on Tokyo MX on October 6. Crunchyroll is streaming the series with English subtitles as it airs, and Funimation began streaming English-dubbed episodes on November 21.
Amase launched the manga in Morning two in 2012. Kodansha published the manga's 10th compiled book volume on September 23.
