The screenings are the first time in the 50-year history of the Ultraman franchise that English-dubbed Ultraman films will have an official coordinated theatrical release in cities in the United States and Canada.

Ultraman Ginga S The Movie (Gekijōban Ultraman Ginga S Kessen! Ultra 10 Yūshi!!) premiered in March 2015, and Ultraman X: The Movie (Gekijōban Ultraman X Kita zo! Warera no Ultraman) premiered in March 2016. William Winckler Productions is producing the English dubbed versions for both films and for Ultra Fight Victory.

The films tie in to 2014's Ultraman Ginga S and 2015's Ultraman X television shows, respectively. Crunchyroll streamed Ultraman X as it aired in Japan as its first simulcast for the Ultraman franchise.

William Winckler Productions has previously released several Toei Animation shows and the Fairy Princess Minky Momo television anime as films.

Update: William Winckler Productions has confirmed with ANN that it hasn't licensed the films, but as it is the U.S.-based theatrical distributor for Tsuburaya Productions Company Ltd., it is "working for Tsuburaya Productions, not licensing from Tsuburaya Productions."

Update on 12/31: Updated theatrical listing.

Update on 1/16: Updated theatrical listing (added theater in Las Vegas, additional screening date for Portland) and corrected date for San Francisco screening.

Update on 2/13: The Metro Cinema theater in Edmonton will additionally screen the film on February 27 at 7:00 p.m.
