TeniMyu/Yowapeda's Yūki Ogoe stars in Nobita and the Animal Planet starting March 26

Doraemon: Nobita to Animal Planet (Doraemon: Nobita and the Animal Planet), the first stage play of Fujiko F. Fujio's classic children's manga, is returning for a new run starting March 26. It has been nine years since this play debuted in 2008.

Yūki Ogoe (Prince of Tennis musical's Ryōma Sakamoto, Yowamushi Pedal's Sakamichi Onoda, top left photograph) stars as the robot cat Doraemon's owner Nobita. Nogizaka46 idol group member Hina Higuchi (top right) plays the heroine Shizuka-chan, and Kōki (bottom left) plays the neighborhood bully Gian. Shō Jinnai (bottom right) play the spoiled Suneo. Minami Tsukui plays Chippo, and Taichi Shimamura plays Chippo's papa. Ikuko Sawada plays Nobita's mama.

The play adapts the 1990 movie of the same name. Shōji Kokami, a self-professed fan of Doraemon and other Fujio works, is directing the production. It will run from March 26 to April 2 at Tokyo's Sunshine Gekijō theater, followed by dates in Fukuoka, Aichi, Miyagi, and Osaka in April.
