Fire Emblem Manga by Fire Emblem Fates Creators Suspended

posted on by Karen Ressler
Manga by Yuusuke Kozaki, Shin Kibayashi was slated to launch last year

Fire Emblem Fates character designer Yuusuke Kozaki announced on Wednesday that his Fire Emblem manga project has been suspended due to "various circumstances." He apologized to those who have been waiting for the manga, and mentioned that he would still like to do some form of Fire Emblem manga in the future.

Kodansha's Monthy Young Magazine announced in 2015 that Kozaki (Donyatsu) and Fire Emblem Fates story writer Shin Kibayashi (GetBackers, The Knight in the Area) were on board to create a Fire Emblem manga. The manga was supposed to launch in September 2015 but never did.

Previous Fire Emblem manga series include Maki Hakoda's adaptation of the first game, Fire Emblem: Dark Dragon and the Sword of Light, and Kōtarō Yamada's Fire Emblem: Hasha no Tsurugi (Fire Emblem: Sword of Champions), which adapts the sixth game in the series. Nea Fuyuki's Fire Emblem: Hikari o Tsugumono and Mitsuki O-sawa's Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War both adapt the series' fourth game. The most recent games in the series, Fire Emblem Fates, inspired several comic anthologies and four-panel manga.
