Aniplus HD Airs Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid, Trickster Anime

Miss Kobayashi premieres on January 11, Trickster on January 2

Southeast Asian channel Aniplus HD announced on Thursday that it will air the Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid and Trickster television anime.

Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid will premiere on January 11 at 11:00 p.m. in Thailand and Indonesia, and at 12:00 a.m. (effectively on January 12) in Singapore and the Philippines.

Aniplus HD describes the anime:

Miss Kobayashi is an office worker who lives a boring life. One day, while drunk, she saves the life of a female dragon and invites her to her small apartment. The dragon, named Tohru, transforms into an adorable human girl dressed as a maid. With a devoted, high-spirited Dragon Maid as her roommate, Miss Kobayashi's normal life is about to change!

Aniplus HD is streaming an English-subtitled video for the anime:

Yasuhiro Takemoto (Amagi Brilliant Park, The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya, Hyōka, Lucky Star) is directing the anime at Kyoto Animation. Yuka Yamada (Neo Angelique Abyss, Samurai Warriors, Umi Monogatari) is in charge of the series scripts, and Miku Kadowaki (Amagi Brilliant Park, Beyond the Boundary) is designing the characters.

Mikiko Watanabe is the art director, and Yūka Yoneda is the color key artist. Seiichi Akitake is designing the props, and Akihiro Ura is director of photography. Yota Tsuruoka is directing the sound, and Masumi Itou is composing the music at Lantis. The band fhana is performing the opening theme song "Aozora no Rhapsody," and the group Choro-gonzu (the characters Tohru, Kanna, Eruma, and Rukoa) is performing the ending theme song "Ishukan Communication."

The anime is based on Coolkyoushinja's ongoing manga series, which launched in the inaugural issue of Futabasha's Monthly Action magazine in May 2013. Futabasha published the manga's fifth volume on December 12. A spinoff manga also began on December 24.

Trickster will premiere on January 2 at 10:30 p.m. in Thailand and Indonesia, and at 11:30 p.m. in Singapore and the Philippines. The channel will air the first 12-episode half of the anime, with a new episode every day on Monday to Sunday until January 14. Beginning on January 17, the channel will start airing the anime's second half at 12:50 a.m. in Thailand and Indonesia, and at 1:50 a.m. in Singapore and the Philippines, with one episode every week. The second half will begin airing in the channel one week after the January 9 Japanese premiere.

The first half premiered in Japan on October 3.

Aniplus HD describes the anime:

Boys' Detective Team member Kensuke Hanasaki meets a mysterious boy named Yoshio Kobayashi, who has an undying body because of an "unidentified fog". Kobayashi wishes his own death and refuses contact with others. Hanasaki takes an interest in him and invites him to join the team. Their encounter leads them to the criminal nicknamed the "Fiend with Twenty Faces”.

Masahiro Mukai (Hyperdimension Neptunia, episode director in Terror in Resonance, Blood Blockade Battlefront) is directing the anime at TMS Entertainment and Shin-Ei Animation. Erika Yoshida (Tiger & Bunny: The Comic) is supervising and writing the series' scripts. Peach-Pit (Di Gi Charat, Rozen Maiden, Shugo Chara!) is drawing the original character designs, and Shinya Yamada (key animation in Attack on Titan, Your Lie in April, Samurai Champloo) is adapting those character designs for animation. Yuuki Hayashi (Death Parade, My Hero Academia, Kiznaiver) is composing the music.
