Yuki Kajiura's Hollywood Sword Art Online Concert Cancelled Due to Visa Issues

Ticket buyers to receive refunds, exclusive items

The official Sword Art Online USA Facebook page announced on Friday that the upcoming "Yuki Kajiura LIVE featuring SWORD ART ONLINE" concert has been cancelled due to visa issues. Space Craft and Aniplex of America had scheduled the concert for January 14, 2017 at Hollywood's Dolby Theatre.

The cost of tickets purchased online or over the phone will be refunded automatically within ten days. Those who purchased tickets will still receive an event pamphlet and an exclusive Sword Art Online the Movie: Ordinal Scale- pouch; the staff will announce details on the distribution of these items on its website at a later date.

The staff apologized for the inconvenience and noted that Kajiura and the other artists were looking forward to the performance.

The original version of the concert took place in Tokyo on March 31. The Hollywood event would have been the North American debut of the concert.

Kajiura has composed the music for every installment in the Sword Art Online anime franchise, including the upcoming Sword Art Online the Movie: Ordinal Scale film. Kajiura released the Sword Art Online Music Collection album (pictured at right) on January 27, 2016.

Kajiura has also composed the music for the Fate/Zero, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE, .hack, Noir, The Garden of Sinners , ERASED, and Pandora Hearts series, among others. She is also the composer for the FictionJunction singing group, and she also formed the Kalafina group in 2007.

Thanks to Rachel and Arthur for the news tip.
