Old man meets girl who can turn her thoughts into reality in series with anime in the works

Seven Seas Entertainment announced on Tuesday that it has licensed Tetsuya Imai's Alice & Zouroku manga. The first single volume is slated to ship on July 4.

Seven Seas describes the story:

A group of young girls possess a mysterious power known as "Alice's Dream," which gives them the ability to turn their thoughts into reality. Detained and experimented upon, these youths are locked away in secret until one of them manages to escape. Her name is Sana—a girl with the power to ignore the very laws of physics. When this willful powerhouse crosses paths with a stubborn old man named Zouroku, his carefully-ordered life will never be the same again!

Imai launched the manga in the December 2012 issue of Tokuma Shoten's Monthly Comic Ryū magazine, and Tokuma Shoten will publish the seventh compiled book volume of the manga on November 11. The manga won the New Face Award in the 17th Japan Media Arts Festival Awards in 2013.

An television anime adaptation of the manga has been green-lit for this year.
