Ototachibana's Shōnen Maid Manga Ends in March

Manga launched in 2008, inspired TV anime last April

The preview of the March issue of Kadokawa's B's-LOG COMIC magazine revealed on Tuesday that the magazine will publish the last chapter of Ototachibana's Shōnen Maid manga on March 1.

The manga revolves around Chihiro Komiya, an energetic elementary school student who was living with his mom. Chihiro is very good at doing housework and chores, and his mother's motto is "No work, no food." After his mother suddenly dies, a man named Madoka Taketori who claims to be his uncle shows up, and asks Chihiro to come live with him. Chihiro initially refuses, but when seeing the horribly dirty state of Madoka's rich home, he decides to start cleaning it. Then Madoka makes another offer to Chihiro: that he comes to live with him, but in exchange Chihiro will do the housework. Chihiro accepts this deal, but suddenly finds himself in a maid uniform.

Ototachibana launched the series in Enterbrain's Comic B's-LOG magazine in the April 2008 issue, and Kadokawa published the ninth compiled volume last April. The manga inspired a television anime adaptation that premiered last April. Funimation streamed the series as it aired in Japan. A limited edition of the sixth compiled volume had bundled a drama CD in 2013.

Digital Manga Inc. had announced in 2008 that it had licensed Ototachibana's one-volume Ghost Hunt Scramble! manga, but the company has not yet released the title.
