The February issue of Shueisha's Miracle Jump magazine revealed on Tuesday that Jun Kumagai, pako, and Daisuke Furuya's Scar-red manga will move to Shueisha's Tonari no Young Jump web magazine beginning on March 14.

The manga is based on Rejet and Red Entertainment's Scar-red Rider XechS romance adventure game, although it has an original story. Funimation streamed the game's television anime adaptation as it aired beginning last July, and it describes the anime's story:

The Blue World, a world symbolizing reason, is under attack by fierce creatures known as the Nightfly O'Note sent from the Red World, a world symbolizing instinct. Elected to lead the Blue World, 17-year-old researcher Akira Asagi will take charge of the combat unit “IS”. These six riders, also called the Scared Rider Xechs, will fight at the Ryuukyuu LAG to protect their world and each other.

Kumagai, the game's original scenario writer, is writing the manga, while pako, the original character designer, is drawing. Daisuke Furuya (Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign) is in charge of storyboards. The manga launched in Miracle Jump last June. Shueisha will publish the manga's first volume on May 19.

The original game shipped for the PlayStation 2 in July 2010, followed by a Scared Rider Xechs: Stardust Lovers fan disc in 2011. The two releases shipped in a bundle for PSP in 2012. The original game received a PS Vita port in November 2015.
