posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Group started in 2003, debuted in 2014

Rev. from DVL idol group announced on its official website on Monday that the group will break up on March 31. The announcement stated that the group's members are moving on to other things, with some finding a job, or continuing education, or another path. The members discussed this with their production company and concluded that the group would disband.

The group began in 2003 as members of dance and vocal unit DVL, which originates from Hakata Ward in Fukuoka City. The group changed its name into the current one in 2011, and gained popularity in 2013 due to a picture that a fan took of member Kanna Hashimoto, which spread on the Internet. The group released its debut single, "LOVE-arigatou-," in April 2014, which sold 13,000 copies and ranked #6 on Oricon's weekly single chart in its first week. Since then, the group has released six more singles, including its latest single "Vampire" in December.

The group will have a final pair of concerts on March 29 in Tokyo and March 31 in Fukuoka. The group will announce details on its final best-of album at a later date.

Besides Kanna Hashimoto, the group's members include Miki Washio, Nagisa Shinomiya, Hitomi Imai, Miho Akiyama, Nanami Chikaraishi, Yukina Hashimoto, Reina Fujimoto, Saki Furusawa, and Airi Ikematsu.

Hashimoto previously starred in the 2015 live-action Assassination Classroom film as Ritsu, and will star in the live-action HaruChika film and the live-action Gintama film.
