M&C! Licenses High-Rise Invasion, Countryside Marriage Manga

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Yuji Onda's Be Careful With the Kamiki Brothers manga also licensed, slated for March 1

Indonesian publisher M&C! announced last week that it has licensed Tsuina Miura and Takahiro Ōba's High-Rise Invasion (Tenkū Shinpan), Chiaki Karasawa's Countryside Marriage (Inaka Kekkon), and Yuji Onda's Be Careful With the Kamiki Brothers (Kamiki Kyōdai Okotawari) manga. The company will publish the first volumes of all three manga on March 1.

M&C! describes High-Rise Invasion:

When she wakes up, Yuri Honjo was on the roof of a skyscraper with a suspension bridge. It only takes her a few moments to realize that a masked killer is chasing her. When she makes a break for it, she realizes her choices: she can die at the hands of the killer, or jump off the building. A third choice? Fight!

Miura and Ōba launched the manga on DeNA's Manga Box app in December 2013. Kodansha published the manga's 10th compiled book volume in November.

Miura is credited for the story of the first volume of the Ajin - Demi-Human, alongside artist Gamon Sakurai. All volumes thereafter have had Sakurai on both art and story.

Countryside Marriage collects four short one-shot manga by Karasawa. M&C! describes the title story:

Daisuke lived the life of an elite urbanite, but one day is asked to take over the family farm in the countryside, and wed Haruka, with whom he was engaged with as a formality. Daisuke had no intention of maintaining a long-term relationship with the plain woman in her 30s, and had every intention to divorce her immediately and head back to Tokyo. However, his feelings begin to change as he spends time around her.

Aside from the title story, the manga also contains the one-shot manga "Fireworks Marriage Battle," "A Marriage Hunting of A Man Who Never Had A Girlfriend," and "Marriage Proposal at The Hotel." Karasawa published the manga in Hakusensha's Ane LaLa magazine from 2013 to 2014. Hakusensha published the volume in June 2014. Karasawa published more short manga afterward dealing with the theme of marriage, and collected them as the second volume in the Countryside Marriage series, which Hakusensha published in May 2015.

M&C! describes Be Careful With the Kamiki Brothers:

Iroha's father passed away before she could even remember it, and her mother raised Iroha alone. Now in high school, Iroha finds out that her mother is remarrying. Her new brother is Kamiki, a handsome and famous guy at her school, but who treats her rudely. With this being the first time that Iroha will live with men, what will happen in her thrilling new life?

Onda launched the manga in Kodansha's Bessatsu Friend magazine in 2015. Kodansha published the manga's fourth compiled book volume in November.
