Band's 27th consecutive single ranked in the top 10

Japanese rock band UVERworld's 30th CD single "Itteki no Eikyō" (A Drop's Influence) ranked at #2 in its debut week on the Oricon's Singles chart for the week of January 30 through February 5. Sony Music Records released the single on February 1, and it has sold 47,631 copies. "Itteki no Eikyō" is the band's 27th consecutive single ranked in the chart's top 10, and the band's 29th overall single ranked in the top 10. The band has had a single in the top 10 every year since the release of their major debut single "D-tecnoLife" as the second opening theme song for the Bleach anime in 2005.

"Itteki no Eikyō" serves as the opening theme song for the ongoing Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga (Ao no Exorcist: Kyoto Fujō Ō-hen ) sequel television anime, which premiered in Japan on January 6. UVERworld also performed the first opening for the first Blue Exorcist television anime in 2011, as well as the theme song for the Blue Exorcist anime film. The band has also contributed theme songs for Bleach, D.Gray-man, and Puzzle & Dragons X, among other anime.

The single is being sold in three different editions, all of which include the songs "Itteki no Eikyō" and "Emyū" — an insert song for the recent live-action Shinjuku Swan II film. The first-run limited edition recording of the single also includes the song "Forever Young," recorded in collaboration with hip hop artist AK-69. The regular limited edition recording features a Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga jacket design, and it includes a short version of the title song and the band's songs "Core Pride" and "Reversi" — the opening theme songs for the 2011 Blue Exorcist television anime and Blue Exorcist anime film, respectively.

Update: Oricon posted its precise sales numbers for the single.
