Devil Survivor's Satoru Matsuba is new artist, Hirokazu Kobayashi returns for script

The May issue of Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Sirius magazine launched a new series of voice actors Daisuke Ono and Takayuki Kondou's Navagraha manga on March 25. The manga, now titled Navagraha -Virgin 9 soulS-, features art by Satoru Matsuba (Devil Survivor). Hirokazu Kobayashi returns to write the script.

The manga is set in a world where nine people known as the "Kuyō" can summon the power of Buddha to become the strongest people in the world to fight evil. Akira and Sakuya, former Kuyō who lost their powers, live a life of regret. But when a threat arises, they stand up to fight for what is important to them. Now they must find a way to reclaim the power of Buddha, and stand against Vishuddha, which is searching for a hibutsu (hidden Buddhist image) in order to destroy the world.

The first manga, titled Navagraha -DefenD 9 Triggers-, launched in Monthly Shonen Sirius in August 2015. Ono and Kondou are credited for the original work. Kobayashi wrote the script, and Takatoshi Shiozawa (Final Fantasy Type-0) drew the manga. It ended in November last year. Kodansha published the third and final compiled book volume on March 23. The limited edition second and third volumes third volumes bundled drama CDs starring Kondou as Akira and Ono as Sakuya.
