'your name.' Anime Film Earns US$1.8 Million in 1st Weekend (Updated)

Box Office Mojo estimated that Makoto Shinkai's your name. anime film earned US$1,600,000 in its debut weekend in the United States and Canada.
The film earned US$632,469 (an updated number from the previous report of US$627,208) on Friday, the film's first day in theaters in the United States and Canada. The film's per theater average for Friday was higher than any film in the top 12.
Box Office Mojo estimated the film earned US$575,541 on Saturday, and US$391,990 on Sunday. The film earned an average of US$5,281 per theater in 303 theaters in its opening weekend, and ranked at #13 for the weekend.
Funimation is hosting film screenings in both the original Japanese with English subtitles and an English dub.
Box Office Mojo estimated the film's current worldwide total at US$330,293,624.
