Aniplex to Release Fate/Grand Order Smartphone Game in U.S. (Updated)

posted on by Karen Ressler
iOS/Android game slated for summer

Aniplex announced at its panel at Sakura-Con on Saturday that it will release Type-Moon's Fate/Grand Order game for iOS and Android in the United States. The game is slated for this summer, and it will have the original Japanese cast with subtitles.

The game features a main scenario and additional scenarios for individual characters in the game. In the game, players take on the role of a Master to create a team of Servants from the Fate franchise, including some returning and some original characters.

Aniplex released the game in Japan in summer 2015 and it has been downloaded more than 8 million times. Kinoko Nasu supervised and wrote the scenario with Yūichirō Higashide and Hikaru Sakurai. Takashi Takeuchi is in charge of character designs and art direction.

The game inspired the 74-minute Fate/Grand Order: First Order television anime special that aired in Japan on December 31. Aniplex of America, Crunchyroll, and Daisuki streamed the special the same day.

The game is also inspiring a stage play this July.

Update: Aniplex Japan is releasing the game in the United States, though it is working with Aniplex of America.

Update 2: Trailer added.
