Live-Action [email protected] Show Teases 1st Episode in Video

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Series premieres in South Korea on April 28, will stream on Amazon Prime Video

The official YouTube account for the live-action THE IDOLM@STER.KR Dream television series began streaming a teaser for the show's first episode on Thursday.

The official website for the series revealed on March 3 that the [email protected] Dream series will begin airing in South Korea on April 28. The show will air on the SBS Plus, SBS funE, and SBS MTV channels in South Korea. The series will have 24 episodes and will air weekly.

The series will also stream on Amazon Prime Video for Amazon Prime members wherever the service is available worldwide. Amazon previously stated it will stream the show simultaneously as it airs on South Korean television. Amazon stated that it will localize the series into several languages including Japanese and English, but hasn't yet specified if the translation would be for subtitles or a dub.

The official Japanese Twitter account for the series currently lists that the series will start streaming on Amazon Prime Video Japan in April.

The "B-Side" sub-unit, which is the first sub-unit for the group, released a music video on March 30 for their cover of the original theme song "THE IDOLM@STER." The video has English subtitles. The song itself will serve as the live-action show's theme song.

B-Side is made up of members Sori, Yukika, Jiwon, Yeeun, and Jiseul.

Amazon describes the series:

THE IDOLM@STER.KR, set in the world of Korean entertainment production, stars Korean idols of course, as well as other Japanese and Thai hopefuls. Like the original game, the drama follows a group of young women as they embark on a career in the entertainment industry, and depicts their sweat and tears, their hopes and dreams.

The IDOLM@STER.KR Dream will follow the tone of previous works, and will once again center on a new group of idols' growth, performances, and mutual friendships. However, the story will be set in South Korea, and will follow the country's production and entertainment industry. The characters from the games will not appear in the show. Interactive Media Mix, Inc. is handling the planning and production of the series.
