This year's ninth issue of Hakusensha's Young Animal magazine revealed on Friday that Kiminori Wakasugi will launch a new manga titled Rhyming Man in the magazine's next issue on May 12. The music manga will center on a young rapper as the protagonist, and the first chapter will be 28 pages long with a color opening page.

Wakasugi ended his Detroit Metal City manga in 2010, and Viz Media published the manga in North America. The manga inspired both a live-action movie and an original video anime.

Wakasugi's launched his All Esper Dayo! manga in 2009, and ended it in 2015. The manga inspired a live-action television series, a special, a film, and a web series.

Wakasugi launched his most recent manga, Sekai wa Boku no Mono, in Shogakukan's Big Comic Spirits magazine in October 2015, and ended it last year. Shogakukan published the manga's fourth and final volume in December.
