Noragami Manga Goes on Extended Hiatus Due to Adachitoka's Health

Manga's return date is as-yet unknown

The June issue of Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Magazine is revealing on Tuesday that Adachitoka's Noragami: Stray God manga is going on an extended hiatus so that Adachitoka can recuperate from an illness. The editorial staff stated that it is currently unknown when the manga will return. When the return date is decided, the editorial staff will publish that date in the magazine.

The manga's 75th chapter didn't appear as planned in the magazine's May issue that shipped last month, and at the time the editorial staff said the unexpected break in that issue was due to "circumstances."

Kodansha Comics is releasing the manga in English as well as its Noragami: Stray Stories spinoff manga. The company describes the original manga:

Yato is a homeless god. He doesn't even have a shrine, not to mention worshippers! So to achieve his ambitious goals, he's set up a service to help those in need (for a small fee), hoping he'll eventually raise enough money to build himself the lavish temple of his dreams. Of course, he can't afford to be picky, so Yato accepts all kinds of jobs, from finding lost kittens to helping a student overcome bullies at school.

Adachitoka launched the manga in Monthly Shonen Magazine in 2010, and Kodansha published the manga's 18th compiled book volume on February 17. Kodansha Comics released the manga's 17th volume in October.

Update: While Adachitoka is a team of two people, the announcement didn't specify which of the members is recovering from an illness.
