TV5 to Air Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Anime on May 11

Philippine television channel TV5 aired a television commercial on Sunday revealing that it will begin airing the Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? anime on May 11. It will air every Thursday at 5:45 p.m. as part of the channel's AniMEGA programming block, with encore airings on Sunday at 11:30 a.m.
The series premiered in Japan in April 2015, and Southeast Asian anime channel Aniplus HD aired the anime as a simulcast as it aired in Japan. TV5 is partnering with Aniplus-Asia for its slate of anime content for the programming block. Aniplus-Asia describes the anime:
In Orario, fearless adventurers band together in search of fame and fortune within the monstrous underground labyrinth known as Dungeon.But while riches and renown are incentive enough for most, Bell Cranel, would-be hero extraordinaire, has bigger plans: he wants to pick up girls.
Is it wrong to face the perils of Dungeon alone, in a single-member guild blessed by a failed goddess? Maybe. Is it wrong to dream of playing hero to hapless maidens in Dungeon? Maybe not. After one misguided adventure, Bell quickly discovers that anything can happen in the labyrinth–even chance encounters with beautiful women. The only problem? He's the one who winds up the damsel in distress!!
The series is based on Fujino Ōmori's light novel series of the same name. Yoshiki Yamakawa (Hatsukoi Limited, Little Busters!) directed the anime at J.C. Staff (A Certain Magical Index, Little Busters!), and Hideki Shirane (Date A Live, Bottle Fairy) supervised the series scripts. Shigeki Kimoto (Sky Girls sub character design) designed the characters for the anime, and GENCO produced the series.
The series also got an OVA, which debuted in Japan in December. Aniplus-Asia aired the OVA in February. The Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? On the Side: Sword Oratoria spinoff novels are also inspiring a currently-airing television anime, and Aniplus-Asia is airing a simulcast of the anime.
