Kare Kano's Masami Tsuda Ends Hinoko Manga in 2 Chapters

"Ancient fantasy" about girl with powers launched in 2012

The June issue of Hakusensha's Ane LaLa magazine revealed on Monday that Kare Kano (Kareshi Kanojo no Jijō/His and Her Circumstances) author Masami Tsuda will end the Hinoko manga in two more chapters. If publication continues without breaks, the final chapter will debut in the bimonthly magazine's October issue on September 5.

Tsuda launched the series in Hakusensha's LaLa shōjo magazine in 2012 and moved the manga to Ane LaLa in 2015. Hakusensha released the seventh compiled book volume on Tuesday. The "ancient fantasy" series features a girl with mysterious powers from the "legendary age of shrine maidens" whose meeting with a boy changes her life.

Tsuda's Chotto Edo Made historical comedy manga ended in LaLa in 2011. Tsuda also drew a one-shot Kare Kano manga for the magazine in 2011. Tokyopop released Kare Kano as well as Tsuda's Eensy-Weensy Monster and Castle of Dreams manga in North America.

Tsuda's other manga include Jūnengo, Machi no Dokoka de Gūzen ni, Nostalgia, and Meet Me Again Tomorrow in the Forest.
