Kemono Friends Stage Play Reveals More Cast Members

posted on by Karen Ressler
Main anime cast, more to star in June stage play

The official website for the stage play adaptation of Nexon and Mine Yoshizaki's Kemono Friends franchise announced 11 additional cast members on Monday. The new cast members are listed below; their roles have not yet been revealed.

Moeno Nitō

Misaki Nishikawa

Ran Sakai

Yurio Kōno

Rihona Katō

Azusa Inamura

Reika Ishii

Rikako Itō

The website also lists Miwa Furushō, Izumi Niihashi, and Hinata Koizumi.

As previously announced, the cast of the Dōbutsu Biscuit (Serval, Fennec, Raccoon) and Penguins Performance Project or "PPP" (Royal, Rockhopper, Gentoo, Humboldt, and Emperor Penguins) units from the anime will all reprise their roles in the stage play, while Hotaru Nomoto will play Okapi. The main cast includes:

Yuka Ozaki as Serval

Kana Motomiya as Fennec

Saki Ono as Raccoon

Mikoi Sasaki as Royal Penguin

Ruka Nemoto as Emperor Penguin

Kyōka Tamura as Gentoo Penguin

Aina Aiba as Rockhopper Penguin

Ikuko Chikuta as Humboldt Penguin

Hotaru Nomoto as Okapi

The play will run at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel Club eX in Tokyo from June 14 to 18. Hiroki Murakami is directing the play and penning the script. The play will have an original story.

In addition to the stage play, Bushiroad is developing a brand-new game for smartphones slated for this summer. The anime is getting "original content" on TV Tokyo's new AniTele app, which launched on April 1. A "new screen project" for Kemono Friends was announced last month.

The 12-episode Kemono Friends television anime premiered on TV Tokyo and TV Osaka on January 10 and ended on March 28. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired. The anime received an unofficial "episode 12.1" earlier this month that was not part of the new screen project.

Nexon's original app game launched in early 2016 and ended service on December 14 — before the anime even premiered. Nexon announced in February that the app would not return despite the anime's popularity, but a spokesperson for Nexon later stated that the return of the smartphone app "is possible." In the RPG, animals around the world have transformed into girls and players could recruit them into their party for battle.
