The films will open in theaters in Japan on August 5.

The video teases the Gekijō-ban Kamen Rider Ex-Aid film will show the "true ending" for Kamen Rider Ex-Aid before the television series. The video also reveals that Uchū Sentai Kyūranger: The Movie will center on the Kyūrangers saving the Earth from a collision with a mysterious giant comet.

The Kamen Rider Ex-Aid television series premiered in October. The show's theme is "doctors x gamers." The protagonist Emu Hōjō (played by Hiroki Iijima) is a medical student at Seito University Hospital. After transforming into Kamen Rider Ex-Aid, Emu begins at level one and helps people who have been infected by the game virus "Bugster." Then, the Emu levels up to level two to fight the materialized Bugster.

Toei and TV Asahi's Uchū Sentai Kyūranger series, the 41st Super Sentai series, premiered on February 12. The series has a theme of "space" and "constellations," and for the first time features a nine-member hero squad. The story features an evil organization called "Jark Matter" who rule the universe in the far distant future. The nine "Kyūtama" transformation items that harness the power of the constellations choose nine heroes to become the Kyūrangers and save the universe. Each member is an alien from a different constellation, and include not only human-type aliens but also android-type and werewolf-type aliens.

The franchises previously appeared together in the Kamen Rider x Super Sentai: Chō Superhero Taisen (Ultra Superhero War) film, which opened in Japan on March 25.
