Game franchise spinoff manga by Yasuyuki Nekoi launched in April 2016

This year's 12th issue of Akita Shoten's Young Champion magazine revealed on Tuesday that Yasuyuki Nekoi's Sengoku Basara Dokugan manga will end in the magazine's next issue on June 13.

The story takes place in a new century in Japan, where Mogami Yoshiaki rules over a despotic government. A one-eyed man riding motorcycle appears.

Nekoi launched the manga in Young Champion in April 2016. Akita Shoten published the manga's second compiled book volume on March 17.

Motoki Yoshihara's Sengoku Basara 4 manga ended in October 2015. Yoshihara also ended another manga based on Sengoku Basara 4 titled Sengoku Basara 4 - Bontenmaru-hen in August 2015. A new manga titled Sengoku Basara Retsuden launched in Kadokawa's Dengeki Maoh magazine on March 27. Yoshihara, Asagi Ōga, and Yoshisada Tsutsumi will all pen different arcs of the manga.

CAPCOM released the Sengoku Basara 4 PlayStation 3 action game in Japan in January 2014, and released a high-definition version, Sengoku Basara 4 - Sumeragi, to celebrate the series' 10th anniversary last July for the PlayStation 4. The franchise's newest game, Sengoku Basara: Sanada Yukimura-Den, a prequel about Sanada Yukimura, shipped last September.

The CAPCOM franchise has inspired three television anime series, one anime movie, a live-action series with two compilation films, and several stage plays.
