KenIchi Creator to End Tokiwa Kitareri!! Manga in June

11th volume listed with June 16 release; 12th, 13th volume for July 18 release

This year's 27th issue of Shogakukan's Shonen Sunday magazine is revealing on Wednesday that Shun Matsuena's Tokiwa Kitareri!! manga will end in the magazine's next issue on June 7. Amazon is listing the manga's 11th volume for a June 16 release, and the 12th and 13th volumes for a July 18 release.

In the story, Tokiwa is a "liberal arts boy" who's bad at exercise and has few friends. His ordinary life is changed when three main character-like guys gather around him: a ninja, a sorcerer, and a humanoid AI.

Matsuena launched the series in Shonen Sunday in December 2014, and Shogakukan shipped the 10th compiled book volume on March 31. J.C. Staff produced an animated commercial for the manga, which streamed in January 2016.

Matsuena's Shijō Saikyō no Deshi Kenichi (KenIchi the Mightiest Disciple) manga ran in Shonen Sunday from 2002 to 2014. The manga inspired a television anime series that Funimation released in North America. The manga also inspired a series of original video anime episodes that eventually ran on Japanese television.
