News Kabocha to Mayonnaise Live-Action Film's Teaser Video, Visual Revealed

The official website for the live-action film adaptation of Kiriko Nananan's Kabocha to Mayonnaise (Pumpkin and Mayonnaise) manga began streaming a teaser video for the film on Friday. The video reveals the film's November 11 release date in Japan.
The film's staff also revealed a teaser visual on Friday.
The manga focuses on the relationship between Tsuchida and Seiichi, a couple living together trying to make ends meet. Seiichi is a musician and songwriter in a band that dreams big, and Tsuchida works at a clothing store to support them, but sometimes still thinks about her ex-boyfriend Hagio. Tsuchida follows the lead of a friend to work at a hostess bar for extra money, but gives in to the sexual advances of a client. When Seiichi finds out, the couple begin to grow more distant, especially after Hagio's sudden re-entry into Tsuchida's life.

Masanori Tominaga is directing the film and penning the script. Estuko Yakushimaru is composing an insert song for the film, and is supervising music production.
Viz Media published Nananan's Itaitashii Love and Heartless Bitch manga as part of the Secret Comics Japan manga anthology in 2000. Fanfare / Ponent Mon published Nananan's Blue manga in 2006. The manga inspired a 2003 live-action film. CPM planned to release Nananan's Strawberry Shortcakes manga in North America with the title Sweet Cream & Red Strawberries in 2007, but never released it. The manga inspired a live-action film in 2006.
