Relationship drama film starring Asami Usuda, Taiga, Joe Odagiri opens on November 11

The official website for the live-action film adaptation of Kiriko Nananan's Kabocha to Mayonnaise (Pumpkin and Mayonnaise) manga began streaming a teaser video for the film on Friday. The video reveals the film's November 11 release date in Japan.

The film's staff also revealed a teaser visual on Friday.

The manga focuses on the relationship between Tsuchida and Seiichi, a couple living together trying to make ends meet. Seiichi is a musician and songwriter in a band that dreams big, and Tsuchida works at a clothing store to support them, but sometimes still thinks about her ex-boyfriend Hagio. Tsuchida follows the lead of a friend to work at a hostess bar for extra money, but gives in to the sexual advances of a client. When Seiichi finds out, the couple begin to grow more distant, especially after Hagio's sudden re-entry into Tsuchida's life.

The cast includes:

(Top row, left to right):

  • Joe Odagiri as Hagio, Tsuchida's ex-boyfriend
  • Asami Usuda as Tsuchida
  • Taiga as Seiichi
  • Sario Okada as Naomi, the new member in Seiichi's band

(Bottom row, left to right):

  • Ryūya Wakaba as Terao, Seiichi's bandmate
  • Kōdai Asaka as Tanaka, Seiichi's bandmate
  • Ritsu Ōtomo as Kawauchi, Seiichi's bandmate
