King of Prism: Pride the Hero Film's Video Shows Louis' Prism Show

King of Prism by Pretty Rhythm manga ends; trailer streamed for smartphone game

Avex Pictures began streaming a video for the King of Prism: PRIDE the HERO character Louis Kisaragi's Prism Show and song "pride" on Friday. The video is the "director's cut" — it features scenes that do not appear in the King of Prism: PRIDE the HERO film that opens in Japan on Saturday.

Avex Pictures also began streaming a promotional video for the King of Prism Rush! Live smartphone game on Friday. The free-to-play "rhythm skating" game for iOS and Android is slated to launch in the beginning of summer. It will include existing character songs and new tracks.

Moca Ayatsuki's KING OF PRISM by Pretty Rhythm ~Over The Rainbow!~ manga will end its serialized run in the August issue of Shogakukan's Cheese! magazine on June 24. The manga, based on the first KING OF PRISM by PrettyRhythm film from January 2016, began in Cheese! on August 24. The manga's compiled volume shipped on June 9.

Masakazu Hishida, who directed various Pretty Rhythm anime series, as well as the KING OF PRISM by PrettyRhythm film, is returning to direct King of Prism: PRIDE the HERO at Tatsunoko Production. Jou Aoba (Pretty Rhythm Aurora Dream episode director) is also returning to write the script, and Yoshihiro Otobe is returning from several Pretty Rhythm anime series and the previous film as CGI director. Mai Matsuura is again credited with the original character designs and character designs.

The main cast members are reprising their roles in the film. Tomokazu Sugita plays the new character George Takadanobaba.

In the story, Shin Ichijō and seven new students join Edel Rose training school to follow their dreams. They hope to become the next Prism Stars and appear in future Prism Shows. However, a plot lead by Schwarz Rose's Jin Norizuki leads to a threat to Edel Rose's existence. Over The Rainbow goes on indefinite hiatus to save Edel Rose, and the three performers go their separate ways. In order to return a huge debt, Kōji goes to Hollywood to produce film music. Kazuki goes on a street-style quest to rediscover his own origins. Hiro delves into special training to improve himself. In separate locations, the members come to face themselves as Prism Stars.

The baton is passed from the senior performers to their juniors. They again question their bonds with their peers. The curtain is finally raised on the tumultuous conditions inside the Prism King Cup. No one has ever seen Prism Jump's breathless response like this. Who in the world can shine above it all for the King of Prism crown? The coming events will carve a new page in history.

Toy maker Takara Tomy and game developer syn Sophia launched the Pretty Rhythm franchise with the 2010 arcade game Pretty Rhythm Mini-Skirt. The arcade games are targeted toward elementary school girls. The stories center around aspiring idols who compete in Prism Shows, a new kind of event that combines skating, dancing, singing, and fashion. The franchise has inspired four TV anime series, multiple anime films, and the PriPara successor franchise.
