Maiden Japan Licenses Hinako OVA Series

"Training With Hinako," "Sleeping With Hinako," "Bathing With Hinako" star self-aware anime character
Maiden Japan announced on Thursday that it has licensed the Hinako original video anime (OVA) series: Isshoni Training: Training with Hinako, Isshoni Sleeping: Sleeping with Hinako, and Isshoni Training 026: Bathtime with Hinako & Hiyoko (Bathing With Hinako). Maiden Japan will release all three OVAs in one home video release for the United States.

Hinako used to be a normal girl, but then she became an anime character! Now she does things like play the heroine's best friend, but unlike most people in anime, Hinako is completely aware that she's being watched by an unseen audience! So, if she's doing something and thinks of something to say, she'll just say it to the people she can't see. Or CAN she see them? The most self-aware anime character ever invites you to peek behind the screen and experience Training, Bathing and even Sleeping in the intimate interactive life of HINAKO!
The first video shipped in Japan in 2009 and the other two followed in 2010. A 2010 Android app based on the anime launched was available in English but most of the dialogue was not translated. The Isshoni Training 026: Bathtime with Hinako & Hiyoko telease included a microSD card so it could be viewed on a phone.
