On Monday June 19, Manga Entertainment will release Amagi Brilliant Park as a Blu-ray/DVD pack. The "slapstick drama" begins with Seiya Kanie, a high school boy who is invited on a date in an amusement park by a mysterious beautiful transfer student named Isuzu Sento. He is introduced to Latifah, a "real" princess and the park's manager, and is asked to be the acting manager of this "disappointing amusement park in the Tokyo suburbs." Yasuhiro Takemoto (Full Metal Panic!, Lucky Star, Hyōka) directed the anime at Kyoto Animation.
Anime Limited will also release a Blu-ray of the feature film Mai Mai Miracle directed by Sunao Katabuchi (who also directed the new wartime film In This Corner of the World). It is set ten years after the end of the Second World War, in a backwater rural town which used to be a major regional capital in Feudal Japan, Shinko, a girl with an active imagination who daydreams about the town as it appeared a millennium prior, befriends Kiiko, a shy girl from Tokyo whose father relocated to the town to become a doctor for a factory. The film follows their day to day lives as they take care of a goldfish in a makeshift pond, fantasize about a cloistered and lonely young princess who moved to the town in the Feudal Era, and help a boy cope with a family tragedy.
Funimation will release Noragami Aragoto, the sequel to Noragami. Kotaro Tamura (Wolf Children assistant director) is once again directing the anime in the studio BONES. Funimation described the story:
"Yato is back! This minor god makes a major return in season 2 of Noragami Aragoto. And this time, an enemy is hot on his heels. Bishamon, the god of combat has an army of shinki and a death wish for Yato due to their dark past. When Yukine befriends one of Bishamon's shinki, it sets in motion a series of events that re-ignites Bishamon's beef with Yato and forces him to question his relationship with Hiyori. Will the two gods come to an understanding, or will this feud end in a fight?"
