The official website for "DIVE!! VR Lesson~Tomoki-hen," the VR experience based on the television anime of Eto Mori's youth novel series DIVE!!, revealed on June 25 that the game will have a September release for iOS and Android devices. The site also revealed screenshots from the game.

Gugenka from CS-REPORTERS.INC is developing the smartphone version of the game. The game will include voiced dialogue and a "DIVE!! mode," "appreciation mode," and "training mode." In the game, Tomoki will give players diving lessons, and players will be able to experience diving from a 10-meter (about 33-foot) diving board. Virtual Gate will run the virtual reality experience beginning this month.

The DIVE!! anime will premiere on July 6 at 12:55 a.m. (effectively July 7 morning) on Fuji TV's Noitamina block, and will stream exclusively on Amazon Prime Video in Japan. It will stream through Amazon's Anime Strike channel in the United States. The first episode premiered on Amazon Prime Video on Wednesday at 12:00 a.m. (effectively Thursday morning).

Mori's novel series previously inspired a live-action film adaptation in 2008. Masahiro Ikeno also drew a five-volume manga adaptation in 2007-2008.

Virtual Gate is also running its Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- VR experience from June 16 to July 17, and its KING OF PRISM by PrettyRhythm experience from June 30 to July 31. The company is running FOVE's Sword Art Online experience that lets players meet Asuna until July 31.
