Reiji Kaito, Hiyon Katsuragi Launch Mobile Suit Gundam Valpurgis Manga

This year's September issue of Kadokawa's Gundam Ace announced on Wednesday that a new manga titled Mobile Suit Gundam Valpurgis will begin in the next issue on August 26. Hiyon Katsuragi (Mobile Suit Gundam AGE: First Evolution) is drawing the manga and Reiji Kaitō (Unbreakable Machine-Doll) is writing the scenario.
The story takes place in Universal Century 0089. The magazine describes the manga's protagonist Mashiro Oaks as a high school student on Side 2 Colony "Olympus." He gets the high score on a game titled "Valpurgis Night" and, by distributing the video on an underground network, he gets noticed. The tagline reads, "Young Man, defy your cursed fate!!"
The manga's "chapter 0" will be distributed via an event on the Super Gundam Royale game.
The manga is a collaboration between Gundam Ace and Bandai Namco Entertainment to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Gundam Ace and the 30th anniversary of Gundam video games. The magazine announced an anniversary collaboration manga between the two companies in March, although it has not confirmed that the Mobile Suit Gundam Valpurgis manga is the same project. The previously announced project will feature a transforming Gundam designed by Kunio Okawara.
