Akame ga Kill Manga's Volume 1.5 Gets Separate Release on December 25

Manga initially bundled with anime BD/DVD in 2014

The seventh compiled volume of the Akame ga KILL! ZERO manga announced on Friday that the original Akame ga KILL! manga's "volume 1.5," the 100-page manga that shipped with the television anime's first Blu-ray Disc and DVD in 2014, will get a separate release on December 25.

Like the original manga, volume 1.5 (pictured right in image to the right) was written by Takahiro and illustrated by Tetsuya Tashiro. The manga contained two chapters that focused on Bulat and Sheele.

Takahiro and Tashiro launched the original manga in Square Enix's Monthly Gangan Joker magazine in 2010 and ended it in December 2016. Artist Kei Toru launched the Akame ga KILL! ZERO prequel in Square Enix's Monthly Big Gangan magazine in October 2013. The 14th volume's wraparound jacket band revealed that the series, including the Akame ga KILL! ZERO spinoff, has 3,300,000 copies in print. Yen Press publishes both manga in North America.

Akame ga KILL! inspired a TV anime, which premiered in Japan in July 2014. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan, and Sentai Filmworks licensed and released the series on Blu-ray Disc and DVD home video. The anime began airing on Adult Swim's Toonami block starting in August 2015.
