Namie Amuro to Retire From Singing Next September

One Piece, Inuyasha singer celebrated her 25th career anniversary this year

Singer Namie Amuro announced on her website on Wednesday that she will retire on September 16, 2018. She promised to put her all into her final album and concerts in the year leading up to her retirement.

This past September 16 was the 25th anniversary of her debut. She thanked all her fans for their support throughout the years.

During her career, Amuro has performed theme songs for anime such as One Piece, Nintama Rantaro, and Inuyasha. She also performed songs for the live-action Death Note Light up the NEW world film, and she starred in an animated music video with Hatsune Miku. She is performing the theme song for One Piece's upcoming one-hour special, which will air on October 1.
