Little Battlers eXperience's 'Armored Girls' Spinoff Previewed in Animated Video

posted on by Karen Ressler
PC/smartphone game about girls based on LBX robots also has anime planned

DMM Games began streaming a promotional video for its Sōkō Musume (Armored Girls) PC and smartphone game on Thursday. The video shows animated action scenes featuring Achilles, The Emperor, and Joker.

Game developers DMM Games and Level 5 announced in September that they are developing the title. In the upcoming game, the female characters will be clad in parts from robots from the Little Battlers eXperience (Danbōru Senki) multimedia franchise.

Sōkō Musume itself is planned as a multimedia franchise, with planned plastic models from Kotobukiya, a manga in Shogakukan's CoroCoro Aniki magazine, and an anime from DMM Pictures. The format for the anime has not yet been confirmed.

The PC browser game is set for release this winter. The smartphone version for iOS and Android devices is planned for release next spring.

Characters who will appear in the project include:

Achilles

The Emperor

Joker

Kunoichi

Hunter

Little Battlers eXperience was Level 5's second multimedia project after Inazuma Eleven. Level 5 debuted the first "near-future, plastic-model-building role-playing game" in June 2011 for the PlayStation Portable. The company released several other games for Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita. The Danbōru Senki Baku Boost Nintendo 3DS game arrived in Japan in 2012 and in North America and Europe in 2015 under the title LBX: Little Battlers eXperience.

The first anime season premiered in 2011 and aired for 44 episodes. The sequel, Danbōru Senki W, ran for 58-episodes in 2012. The latest series, Danbōru Senki Wars, premiered in 2013 and ran for 37 episodes. The first two anime seasons aired on Nicktoons.

Viz Media released the six volume LBX: Little Battlers eXperience manga adaptation by Hideaki Fujii.
