Series based on Saburouta's yuri manga premieres on January 6

The official website for the television anime adaptation of Saburouta's Citrus yuri manga revealed on Saturday that nano.RIPE (Food Wars! The Second Plate, Non Non Biyori, The Devil Is a Part-Timer!) is performing the show's opening theme song "Azalea," and Mia REGINA (Code:Realize, Matoi the Sacred Slayer) is performing the ending theme song "Dear Teardrop." nano.RIPE's single will ship on February 7, and Mia REGINA's single will ship on February 28.

The series will premiere on AT-X on January 6 at 11:30 p.m. The anime will then debut on Tokyo MX and Sun TV on January 7 and on BS Fuji on January 9. The show stars:

Takeo Takahashi (Spice and Wolf, MAOYU, Hinako Note) is directing the series at studio Passione. Naoki Hayashi (Flip Flappers, D.C.III ~Da Capo III~ script) is overseeing the series scripts, and Izuro Ijuuin (Barakamon, Wagnaria!!3 animation director) is designing the characters and serving as chief animation director. Lantis is producing the music, and Infinite is producing the series.

Seven Seas is publishing the manga in North America, and it describes the story:

Yuzuko Aihara, a high school girl whose main interests are fashion, friends, and having fun, is about to get a reality check. Due to her mom's remarriage, Yuzu has transferred to a new all-girls school that is extremely strict. Her real education is about to begin.

From day one, happy-go-lucky Yuzu makes enemies, namely the beautiful yet stern Student Council President Mei. So what happens when a dejected Yuzu returns home and discovers the shock of her life: that Mei is actually her new stepsister who has come to live with her? Even more surprising, when Mei catches Yuzu off guard and kisses her out of the blue, what does it all mean?

The anime's official website previously streamed a promotional video for the anime in September.

Saburouta launched the manga in Ichijinsha's Comic Yuri Hime magazine in 2012. Ichijinsha published the manga's eighth compiled book volume on October 18. The series' compiled volumes have more than 800,000 copies in print. Seven Seas published the sixth volume on August 22.
